La Tasca

Restaurant photo

La Tasca is one of those restaurants that permanently seem to have some kind of voucher deal on, to the point where you feel like there is something wrong when you pay full price.

They offer a range of tapas and paella dishes to really add some Spanish flavour into your evening. You really cannot go that far wrong with any of them, although the more adventurous may want to try the “paella negra” which comes with what I would hope to be squid ink.

We went for the gambas al ajillo (king prawns), mini beef burgers, albondigas (meatballs) and potatoes. The prawns tasted average but the meatballs came in a wonderful tomato sauce and the beef burgers proved filling. Payment was relatively painless, although to be fair we were the only customers in the restaurant.

It is also worth considering their set menu options. They have several choices to suit various budgets and none of them are too expensive. As with most chains, you know what you are getting, and what you are getting is going to be consistent.
