Sam's Chop House

I really want to like Sam’s Chop House. Not only does it have a great name, but to have a traditional English restaurant like this is a great resource. Unfortunately, I have had slightly mixed experiences.

The first time I went there, I had an excellent evening. Unfortunately they had run out of chops (I know, right!) so I ended up going for the steak, which turned out to be a stroke of luck as it was mouth-watering.

Since then I have found it a bit hit and miss though. The next time I went the food took quite a long time and having shunned the chop in an attempt to relive my steak experience, I found myself a little disappointed. The dessert was similarly disappointing too. They've since removed chops from the menu entirely and now offer dishes that I find bland and boring.

Sam’s Chop House has gone down hill. It used to be well worth a visit. Now, I am not so sure.

James points out that their "plate of chocolate" is definitely not a plate of chocolate! Much better to go for the Yorkshire parkin.
