The Slug And Lettuce

Restaurant photo

Long has it been a subject of debate as to whether the description “upmarket Wetherspoons” is a compliment or an insult. I like to think of it as having the best features of Wetherspoons while doing away with at least some of the flaws (though not all of them, it must be said).

They have a great cocktail menu, although they can be on the pricey side. The food menu is somewhere between a pub and a sit down restaurant – they run a table service in part of the venue and the food itself is great. Price-wise, it falls somewhere in between the two too, so certainly one of your better pub grub choices.

I order the rack of ribs. They are not the best tasting ribs I have had in Leeds, but that says more about the generally high standard than it does about this dish. The chips and coleslaw provide a great complement to the meal.
